Maruti Suzuki’s popular Sedan Desire India NCAP has received a 5-star rating in the crash exam. According to the agency’s crash test results, 29.46 for adults and 29.46 out of 49 for child protection.
For the first time in India, two Maruti vehicle crashes were examined at NCAP. It has the fourth generation Desire and Balleno’s updated 2025 models. Digi is Maruti’s first car that gets 5 stars rating to protect both adults and children.
Earlier, Maruti’s Breza Global NCAP received a maximum of 4 stars from NCAP. At the same time, now Balano India has received 4 stars for adults from NCAP and 3 stars to protect children.
The Maruti brand has also become the only car, which was tested in both India and Global NCAP and both got 5 star security ratings. Only 2 star protection rating was received in the third generation Desire Crash Exam.


Crash test process
1 For the exam, 4 to 5 dummy sits like humans sitting in the car. There is a baby dummy in the back seat, which has been fixed in the baby isophix anchor seat.
