  • Expenditure facility: India provides labor at a lower cost than China, which makes it more attractive. Furthermore, the local level helps to avoid high import costs in electronics at the local level.
  • Government Incuition: India’s Make in India Instive and Production Linked Insitive (PLI) schemes provide financial support to companies to increase local production. These principles have encouraged Apple partners like Foxcon and Tata to invest more in India.
  • Increasing market prospects are increasing: India is one of the fastest growing smartphone market in the world. Local production helps Apple to meet this demand, as well as its market share, which is currently about 6-7%.
  • Opportunity to export: Apple exports 70% of its iPhone made in India, which provides India’s short import tariff compared to China. In 2024, the export of iPhone from India reached $ 12.8 billion (about 1,09,655 crore). It is expected to increase further in the coming days.
  • Skilled workforce and infrastructure: In terms of experience, India’s labor force is behind China, but it is still improving a lot. Partners like Apple’s Foxconn are training employees to meet Karnataka like plants like $ 2.7 billion (23,139 crore) and expand the benefits.
