OTT order to remove Pakistani content from platforms
Earlier, the central government on Thursday ordered all OTT (over-the-top) and streaming platforms to immediately remove the contents related to Pakistan.
Pakistani content has been banned by quoting the cause of national protection in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This step is taken under the IT Act 2021.
OTT platforms have to remove all sorts of Pakistani content
- After the order, all web series and films made in Pakistan will be removed in subscription-based or free.
- Pakistani songs, albums and artists like Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will also be removed on the streaming platforms.
- Any voice-based materials available at Pakistani Origin Podcast, Audio Show or Indian platforms will also be removed.
- Pakistani channel TV shows, documents, programs have also been banned that are flowing to the OTT.
