Caller tune was launched last year to alert people with cybercrime.
If you are annoyed to hear the message of cybercrime in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice every time you call, this voice cannot be heard anymore. The Indian government has finally closed the collar tune with cybercrime caution.
This collar tune was ringing before each call for the past few months, whose goal is to make people aware of cyber fraud, phishing and online scandal. However, for a while people were claiming to be upset by it.
Caller Tune began in September 2024
In September 2021, the Union Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs started promoting the awareness in terms of increasing cases of cybercrime.
It was a 40 second long message in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice. It was warned by people to fake calls, unknown links and the danger of sharing the OTP.
Initially, the initiative was highly acclaimed, because every day thousands of people in the country are suffering from cyber fraud. However, gradually this collar tune becomes a headache for humans.
People were complaining about 40 seconds long message
People complained that there was a lot of trouble in the emergency situation, especially before every call of this 40 -sequent message. Some entered the RTI and asked about the need.
The government first reduced the frequency of this collar tune from 8-10 times a day and was closed during emergency calls (police, ambulance, fire brigade). But now it has been completely removed.
For months, people on social media were expressing dissatisfaction with this collar tune. Many users described it as ‘annoyed’, especially during emergency calls, it was considered a cause of delay.
Former BJP MLAs complained to Union Minister Syndia
Former Indore BJP MLA, Sudanashan Gupta Union Communications Minister Jyotirtita Syndia complained. He said how this tune was delayed to call for the help of the injured person in the road accident. The Syndia also accepted the problem and said that action would be taken soon.
Amitabh Bachchan was being trolled on social media
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan also faced trolling because of this collar melody. Amitabh Bachchan wrote from his official X account on Monday night (June 23), ‘Yes, I am also a fan.’ After a while he improved and wrote again, ‘Sir, not Hijur. Writing is wrong, forgive. ‘
About this, a Troller said in Big B’s cybercrime collar tune- ‘So stop talking to the call brother.’ In response, Big B writes: ‘Talk to the government, brother, he told us.

There was a dispute during the Covid epidemic
This is not the first that Amitabh Bachchan has a rookus in the sound collar tune. A awareness message was also carried out in his voice during Covid -19. It was advised to wear masks, social distribution and hand sanitization.
There was a dispute over this when Amitabh Bachchan and some of his family were attacked by Corona. At that time, a user, who filed a PIL in the Delhi High Court, demanded the removal of his voice.
Why are the collar tunes used?
Caller tunes are considered as an effective means of awareness in India, as the number of telephone users in the country is very high. Especially in rural areas, where internet and TV access can be limited, the message easily reaches people through collar melodies. However, listening to the same message for a long time disturb people, such as Covid and Cyber Crime Collar Tunes.
